If you're not sure where to start in picking up service hours, below are
a few opportunities at St. John Neumann to take advantage of today!
Altar Servers assist the priest at Mass and at all special services throughout the liturgical year. To serve at the altar, you must be
in 4th Grade or older, and have received your First Communion.
Training sessions are scheduled for Sunday, July 23rd
and Sunday, July 30th after the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
Choir members sing at the 4:00 p.m. Saturday Mass and the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. Please arrive 20 minutes before Mass begins.
Practices are held every Thursday night.
Must be high school age or older.
Lectors are the readers at Saturday evening and Sunday morning
Masses. They read the announcements before Mass begins,
including the names of the people Mass is being offered for,
plus the Scripture readings, and finally the Prayer
of the Faithful after the homily.
Ushers are responsible for keeping count of the number of
parishioners in attendance at weekend Mases, initiating the lines
for receiving Communion, directing the parishioners chosen
to carry the Gifts at the Offertory, and taking up collections.
If you are interested in participating in any of the above ministries
as a way to pick up service hours, please contact the parish office:
