Eucharistic Ministers, or Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, are those entrusted to perform a special function for the members of their community. One of those ministries is assisting priests in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass, and at times when the Eucharist is taken to the home bound & the hospitalized. Some Eucharistic Ministers -- or "EMs", for short -- are asked to perform just one of these services, while some assist in all phases.
This man or woman who has been appointed by the Bishop, as recommended by the pastor, to be an EM, should distinguish themselves by their Christian life, faith and morals. They should also cultivate the devotion to the Holy Eucharist and be an example to others, by always showing reverence for this Most Holy and Blessed Sacrament. It is the Bishop's decision as to the length of one's term.
Men, women & youth age 16 and older are encouraged to volunteer to be a Eucharistic Minister at Mass or to the Homebound. Please visit the sacristy after Mass or contact the parish office to fill out an application.
Our Eucharistic Ministry is currently in urgent need of volunteers to bring Holy Communion to our Homebound Parish Family Members. Please prayerfully consider offering your time and efforts to your parish community in this special way!
